Newly established in 2016, the Welcome Garden is a mixed planting of shrubs, perennials and annuals planted on either side of the entrance gates to the patio and Gift Shop. This area was formerly planted with Dahlias which did provide amazing blossoms of varying sizes and colours beginning in late July or early August. However, volunteers wanted to showcase a mixed group of plants that provided both colour and texture in every season not just late summer.

The new plantings have joined several well-established Clematis vines that have been growing against the fence for many years.  Visitors are amazed each June as hundreds of red-violet blooms on Clematis 'Jackmanii Rubra' provide a display that lasts for many weeks.

Although the Welcome Garden was planted with immature plants, most have done well and grown magnificently in such a short time.  We look forward to seeing the progress as plants continue to grow over the next few years.
